Today I was on scans for my pre-surgery braces + surgery scans.

They took pictures of my teeth, did some 3d scans of my mouth and then they made me bite some warm rubber.

The doctor informed us that the surgery is paid for by the insurance company which is great. I have a bit fucked up bite and some asymetries.

My bite isn’t that bad right now, the doc just said that it will cause issues later in adult life if I don’t get it fixed, besides that I have a recessed mandible, asymetries and a bit crooked nose because of maxillary support, so basically everything is getting fixed lol.

The actual surgery she told me I’d get is a double jaw surgery where they also split your upper and lower jaw down the middle and shift them to fix the asymetry (forgot how the surgery is called).

My mom was pretty spooked when she heard that but she said something about “anything that helps”.

The whole process will take 1.5-2ish years because I have to get it when my development finishes, but I’m pretty happy with it.
