I’m a genz indian girl who just moved to the us for work and ever since then my algorithm keeps recommending me posts about india with wildly misleading comments from this sub so here’s my 2 cents as someone from a touristy town :

India is extremely conservative , majority of the indian women are virgins and majority of the interaction between opposite sexes happens online , interactions in public will get you stares . Online dating and chatting either through whatsapp or instagram is your only in .
Race does matter because it influences personal choices and family approval . For indian women , it’s white , black , asian specifically east asians. For example , Indian japanese is a time tested mix and goes both ways, you also see japanese women with indian men. Indian korean is in trend right now , I’ve seen girls meeting korean men online , marrying them with family approval and moving to korea , this doesn’t go both ways so a lot of young indian men are salty about it lol

posting this as a tribute to my distant uncle who married a white woman and got excommunicated from the family

Edit : This is for mainland india . Indian women do go for white/ black men but only in white/black majority countries , but it’s very rare (statistically)and the guys are usually highly successful or ambitious
Edit 2 : mainland India doesn’t get much exposure to Latin americans other than younger guys being fans of ronaldo but in general latin americans are considered caucasians unless proved otherwise Tip : talk about mayan heritage, heritage and culture are a big thing in india and people were intrigued about the mayan civilisation because of the mayan calendar and the 2012 movie. Middle eastern and arab men are successful with Indian muslims if they’re not extremists , especially in southern India .
Edit 3 : saw someone comment if they can “bypass “by paying dowry(money )to the father for the girl . First of all , dowry is the money paid BY the father to the groom for marrying the girl . Second , giving someone money for their daughter will get u beat up and jailed wth
