Based on archaeological and historical evidence from 1st century Galilean Jews:
Height:
- Around 5'5" (1.65m)
- Average for men in that region and time
Build:
- Lean but muscular
-He was a tekton (carpenter/craftsman), which meant daily physical labor.
- Not the soft, ethereal figure from Western art.
Skin:
- Brown, weathered from sun exposure
- Olive-brown Middle Eastern complexion, not the pale European look from Renaissance paintings.
Face:
- Broad Semitic features
- Dark brown/black eyes
- Dark brown/black hair
- Short beard (standard for Jewish men)
- Would have had visible aging/wrinkles by 30+ in that climate
Hair:
- Dark, probably black
- Shorter than Western depictions (long hair was considered effeminate)
- Likely curly/kinky texture
- Would have been kept neat (Nazarites were the exception for long, unkempt hair)
Clothing:
- Basic unmarked tunic (chitōn)
- Outer cloak (himation)
- Plain sandals
- All made from basic wool/linen
- Natural undyed colors (expensive dyes were for wealthy)
So basically:
A short, muscular, brown-skinned Middle Eastern Jewish man with short dark hair and beard, wearing simple working-class clothes.
Would have looked exactly like what he was - a 1st century Galilean Jewish craftsman.
The blonde, blue-eyed European Jesus is pure fantasy.
The long-haired hippie Jesus is historical nonsense.
He would have looked like any other working-class Jewish man from that region and time period.
