ehhh I wouldn't be so quick on that judgement. I can tell you firsthand bro, out in the rural areas of vietnam dogs are treated pretty poorly. Nobody plays with them, most people kick them if they get too close, they're fed scraps and generally are just treated sufficiently to keep them alive. They're largely utilitarian in rural areas - the dogs are security alarms and pest hunters. So they're someones "pets" yeah, but nothing like the western conception.

I could be wrong, it could be someones dearly loved pet, but given the area I'm seeing in the video I doubt it. Its mostly in the big cities you have people have western style relationships towards dogs.

sure, think about how terrified that dog was. Now think about how terrified chickens, pigs, cows, duck, and just about everything else we eat is. I can tell you from experience, chickens being caught at chicken farms literally shit themselves in terror, scream and often end up with broken bones in the process of being stuffed into the cages being loaded onto the trucks.
