In prior generations it was commonplace for sports teams to have men dress up as odd anthropomorphic creatures and act in an animated manner to rile up the crowd.
Apparently in 2024 it is not sufficiently politically correct because everyone assumes that there is a white man hidden inside that mascot costume. So NBC sports has come up with the solution of having Snoop Dog be the defacto Mascot of the Olympics. A freaky looking 50 year old pot head, profane rapper. The face of American sportsmanship.
