You are supposed to get the work experience while you are studying for the degree. This way once you graduate, you have the degree and relevant work experience and will easily find a job. Uneducated people with no degree are hard capped at usually 30k in the UK for these deadend jobs like call center.

Work experience only works for unskilled labor and sales jobs. You need a college degree and a license to do any worthwhile job.
