Good genes come in packages broootal. It's even more brutal since you can't really cope if you're an unathletic non-NT high IQ ricecel/mayocel.

Studies in athletic populations (e.g., high school futsal players) found a moderate correlation between IQ and athletic performance, with a correlation coefficient of about 0.44. This means IQ explained roughly 19.4% of the variance in athletic performance for this group, with the vast majority (over 80%) explained by other factors like emotional intelligence (EQ), physical fitness, training, and environmental influences.

Sample size of 30 and futsal lmao, doesn’t mean anything

But things like obesity are negatively correlated with Iq. Higher iq people are more likely to take better care of themselves and be in better health

wonderlic test is given to NFL athletes and most perform shit.

Also sports are dominated by blacks who obviously are lower Iq on average

There’s likely little correlation, though of course all other things being the same, higher iq will help with literally anything

To be honest the study and methodology seems shit tbh. Wouldn’t take it seriously.

I trusted the study since I used Perplexity to accumulate studies related to the topic of IQ, but looks like it gives like Buzzfeed level of academic material.

You’re right that athletic performance doesn’t strongly correlate IQ for the aforementioned reasons, but I was trying to prove the point that the notion that these Chad jocks have low IQ and aren’t going to be successful is somewhat of a cope. Of course some are dumb like rocks like Gronk, but on average jocks/athletes have better grades, and have a higher IQ.

Good genes come in packages to some extent, but I agree that the correlation isn’t that strong. I was trying to prove a point but the study I used was sorta shit.

I wouldn't say that the average jock outright has a higher IQ, but I would agree that there are generally genetically "fit" people who are good at most things but not exceptional at anything. You could argue racepill plays a role here too.

I found this, which shows that IQ is mildly negatively correlated with attractiveness which was surprising to me. My original theory was that rich/higher class tend to be smarter, and also taller, etc, better at most things, as you say, good genes come in a package.

This would say athletes perform worse academically, but tbh these studies aren't always reliable. An athlete might be more conscientious for example, and score higher, but also may not be focused on academics because they have a golden ticket to success, and obsession with that.

"Yes, exercise can improve working memory. Studies have shown that physical activity, particularly aerobic exercise, can positively impact the executive control aspect of working memory, which is responsible for managing and manipulating information in the short term"

Makes sense since generally being healthy probably helps prevents IQ-min

I tried to do some more research into sports vs IQ and found nothing tbh. I found one study of higher level Turkish soccer players supposedly performing better than lower level ones, but apparently they didn't even fucking adjust for age?

And the average score was around 80 too...

But anyway, logically speaking there is definitely some correlation to visual spatial, fast decision making/response, focus, etc to sports skill
