I think he was put there on purpose to destabilize the manosphere and its spaces. It was on a rise and putting him on top and him being a horrible poster boy for the red pill etc would completely delegitimize it in any aspect in the minds of normies for the next few years even though there is a massive dating crisis happening in the west.
