From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, many European countries as well as the Anglosphere conducted eugenics programs to varying extents and duration where not only the mentally ill were sterilized, but also those with subhuman phenotypes were also sterilized and those with good phenotypes and aesthetics were optimized for reproduction.
The US eugenics program really only applied to colonial stock American whites and not Ellis Islanders, which means that White American incels are disproportionally Ellis Islander.
South Korea did have a eugenics program, but they selected for intelligence (Hence high IQ), but they did not select for good aesthetics.
Right now not only is eugenics much easier done these days, gene editing also exists, which means that the genes themselves can be improved.
