Just landed a huge deal for the agency

Not gonna write an essay but today I finished a call with an e-com brand that sells proprietary hair masks. $10k per month retainer, comes out to $7k of profit, all of which I’m investing into expanding the team, lead generation and building out a martech stack. I messaged the client on Instagram (sent a video not some shitty DM), two sales calls later and they’re a paying client. My piece of advice: just fucking do it. Sounds cliche but experience is the best teacher.

So you are the owner of a marketing agency?
The problem is that the business model is not scalable. Its always your time against money. But still easy to get clients with cold calling/approaching.
I know a lot about the business.

Yes my business. I started it after working for one of the biggest marketing agencies in Europe. What they did to achieve sustainable scale is 1. Retention, 2. Productization and 3. Efficiency. For client acquisition I’m working on inbound lead gen. Way more time and cost efficient than cold approaching. But you’re right scaling an agency is hard as shit. The main thing is to keep margins wide.

And also I outsource most of the high ticket stuff. Technical SEO and web design is outsourced. Also the time extensive shit like Content creation and copywriting. I focus on shit I’m good at like analytics, PPC, growth hacking.
 
Congratulations, but be a little more selfish. Don’t reinvest all of the money into your team, keep some for yourself. Invest your portion in Bitcoin or stocks.
