I’ve been shaving against the grain for months and haven’t had any problems

I personally use a single blade disposable bic razor

Always wash your face with warm water and apply a decent amount of shaving cream (or soap). Make sure to lather it in

I do the 3 stroke method. Go along the grain first, then sideways and finally against the grain last

Ensure that the razor is sharp and replace them depending on how much you use them. I shave 3 or 4 times a week and replace my blades every 2 weeks (I don’t grow a lot of facial hair)

You should never press down on the skin when shaving. Let the blade glide across gently
