If you have good (or even just decent) eyelashes, turn on ur flash when ur taking selfies in slightly darker lighting. They will show much better, and lashes are an insane halo.

Here is one photo of (young) Henry Cavill in natural lighting:

Here he has a great jaw but only above-average eyes.

And here he is with the flash:

Now he doesn't just have a mogger jaw -- he also has top-tier eyes as well because his lashes are more visible.

This is also why people look better in party photos: less lighting forces people to use flash.

Eyelash visibility doesn't change much with BF%; it's obvious that the lighting changed it, not his (VERY SLIGHT) bloat. Even though bodyfat and other factors contribute to the latter image being a higher PSL, it is fair to say that the eyelashes added a bit to his eye-area and thus his PSL.

It doesn't really matter if it's taken with a cellphone or not. The focus was on the lighting.

The only thing that may be valid is the angle of the shot, but I've seen personally that the flash works well at all angles.

This isn't because of flash. You also forgot to mention he's no more than 2ft away from the camera in the "Flash" picture.

It’s more the eye colour that halos him than lashes. Having said that I still agree with the premise.
