Human habitation in Anatolia dates back to the Paleolithic.[27] Neolithic Anatolia has been proposed as the homeland of the Indo-European language family, although linguists tend to favour a later origin in the steppes north of the Black Sea. However, it is clear that the Anatolian languages, the earliest attested branch of Indo-European, have been spoken in Anatolia since at least the 19th century BC.

Anatolia is known as the birthplace of minted coinage (as opposed to unminted coinage, which first appears in Mesopotamia at a much earlier date) as a medium of exchange, some time in the 7th century BC in Lydia. The use of minted coins continued to flourish during the Greek and Roman eras.

the local Anatolian languages had been supplanted by Greek by the 1st century BC. :rage::rage::rage:

After the division of the Roman Empire, Anatolia became part of the East Roman, or Byzantine Empire. Anatolia was one of the first places where Christianity spread, so that by the 4th century AD, western and central Anatolia were overwhelmingly Christian. ( @john2 is cooming)

It was one of the wealthiest and most densely populated places in the Late Roman Empire. Anatolia's wealth grew during the 4th and 5th centuries thanks, in part, to the Pilgrim's Road that ran through the peninsula.

check these stuffs, it's time to rediscover our history before sandniggers and central asian chinks invasions

when turkmens came from central asia to anatolia the native anatolian population was already extinct or assimilated by the greek colonizes.
turkmens came and decimated and assimilated the greek population that was already mixed with anatolians. then you can add the dozens of balkan and caucasian folk that migrated to the ottoman empire aka modern day turkey. thats turkeys population.

turkish speaking ottoman used to call themselves rumi(roman)

Anatolia and the Balkans were always Diyar-ı Rum i.e. the lands of the Romans or the Roman lands or simply Rum, i.e. Rome.

Almost all sultans were called kayser-i Rum i.e. the caesar of Rome from Mehmed the Conqueror onward.

Funny how ottomans were calling themselves romans during religious and imperial times until nationalist revolutions

it does not matter, they are all assimilated.

if you start to think like that then you could even say that we are all animals, we are all atoms bla bla. going to origins does not make something more original and authentic.

but if you believe you can revive it then go for it.
