That belief of soul and consciousness just gets broken so easily by knowing a little about universe.
in every disaster, difficulty there is a test for those who are able to deal with it with consciousness.

We want to believe it like that but what if nothing had meaning? There is no logical reason that human lives mean anything.

as far as i have readed about it, it does. Or at the very least, if one is rational, he has to be reasonable ie able to choose an option where the probability is higher. And metaphyisically, believing that there is nothing needs a whole argumentation that even the most determined atheist can't bring in.
