and then we danced in the wheat field golden waves moving like time itself had a heartbeat and she danced barefoot and smiled at me like the universe had been waiting for this exact moment to happen and i knew in that instant i had everything i would ever need nothing else would matter not money not fame not validation just this moment this dream this breath
we leaned in to kiss and that was when it happened
reality snapped shut like a steel trap and ripped me out of heaven i woke up in this cage i sat in bed in the same room the same silence the same emptiness and i cried i cried because
