Lens distortion is such cope man and one extremely simple trick proves it

Just take a picture of any object in your room and then look at it with your own eyes and notice how it doesn't look fucking wildly different in the picture to how it looks with your own eyes, even with the front facing camera the difference is very, very minimal and requires OCD levels of nitpicking to even notice, so yeah unfortunately lens distortion is cope imo

But facial aesthetics are determined by a delicate balance of ratios and shit. Small changes can make a big difference, and therefore even very small changes can make some difference.

Genuinely retarded take, first of all you aren't taking a pic of an obj in your room with front camera, if you do it'll be distorted, you just wouldn't notice as much as your face

I agree that it is somewhat cope, if you look good irl, you will look good even with distortion. But then again, when has your phone camera ever done justice to a beautiful sunset or landscape, or even your family pic at Christmas. the colors are just off, the detail isn't there, its the same, but just not quite right. So it definitely matters, just not enough to change Stacy's opinion about you.

Nah man. If you have a shit phone lens distortion is real. I've seen it proven before where it showed a guy with a good camera or different types of photos vs a lense distorted guy and there definitely is a difference.

I just took a picture of my ps5 controller with front camera and it looks more narrow than in real life. The mirror is how you really look in real life anyway, even though the image is flipped, all your ratios are the same.
