Let’s settle this: What ways currently exist to widen the chin and vertically lengthen the chin?

I still cannot find any reliable method in adults that widens the mandible from the front (I.e. chin area) Palate expansion only mainly expands the palate and does not widen the chin area (correct me if I’m wrong). The pinned thread talks about BSSO potentially increasing bigonial length of the mandible, but this is only from the sides. HOW CAN you widen the front most part of the mandible, or in other words, the chin?

Also, how can you VERTICALLY lengthen the chin? Does a genioplasty do this? Or does a genioplasty ONLY jut the chin out horizontally? Does it affect the entire lower jaw or just the chin part of the lower jaw?

Does MSDO widen the chin? And can it be done after jaw surgery? @Golden Glass

Yeah, I’ve seen that one, although it looks comical unfortunately. Also, the chin wasn’t widened but vertically lengthened looks like, which is the main reason why it looks comical I think

Bro that would just jut out the mandible more to fix recession. I’m talking about a vertically lengthier chin (entire mandible would be fine too, but the main recognizable flaw is the chin).

Here is an example of a jaw surgery result. Note how his chin (part of the lower jaw right at the front at the bottom below the teeth) is still pretty much the same width. I want to know how the width of that can be increased.

I also want to know if the overall height of the lower jaw (including the chin) or if just the chin itself can be increased

I just don’t understand why the effect is minimal when I see before/after pictures. I wonder if it can be modified. That still doesn’t answer how the chin can be widened. Thanks a lot though

Knowing the right amount of mm would be tricky though, right? What would you do to figure out the right amount? Would it be based on FWHR? Anything else?

That makes sense. This is going to be interesting since I would need to know how much my chin will eventually be widened before figuring out how much it should be lengthened. Genios can’t widen your chin (I’ve heard of the Eppley one but apparently it’s only 1mm). So I’ll have to see what fillers or a chin wing can do beforehand and combine those measurements and consult those surgeries in advance. Fuck. Since I’m guessing the surgery to lengthen will be different from the surgery to widen.

Horrible result but it does look wider, although the chin still looks just as narrow. It’s just making it appear to be wider, no? But maybe that’s all that matters. I still don’t get what was done specifically though. His face widened but looks bloated (Unless the bloat is just from swelling but I can’t speak russian so)
