Life is a temporary arrangement of energy, a cosmic lottery

the human is nothing more than an arrangement of energy

the atoms that make up ur body are billions of years old

when u die, the atoms that make up ur body might end up in clouds, trees, animals, or even future humans

but why am i me?

because the atoms in this particular part of the universe, on earth, at this moment in time and space, have arranged in such a way that they are highly concentrated in my skull, interacting with one another, processing information, reacting to stimuli, building memory, ultimately forming a neuron, a living cell that connects to other neurons

now you understand why you are you

which is a brutal genetic lottery pill when u think of it, out of all possible atom arrangements, out of all places in the universe, out of all times, u were destined to be in this temporary arrangement of energy, as u

you are a unique moment in space-time, assembled by atoms, animated by energy, dissolved by entropy

you are the universe, becoming aware of itself

your very consciousness is the universe observing itself

then the next question to ask is, could there be non-human conscious beings?

after all, ur consciousness is merely made of complex neural networks in your brain

the important theme is that u are temporary, ur neurons have assembled at this point in time and space

why am i not u? well because each of us has our own brain, our own neurons, our own neural pathways, each processing stimuli, memories, and emotions differently, creating drastically subjective experiences

to be human is to be grateful, you have won the rarest cosmic lottery

out of all possible arrangements of atoms and energy in the universe at all points in time and space, you became a self-aware human, capable of thinking

most atoms just float in space, sit in stars, or drift through dust clouds - not part of anything conscious

location bias is at play, the very fact that ur atoms have made their way on earth, to make up u, imply it is very likely that they will be reused again in the future to form another conscious being

tldr;
I am a temporary arrangement of energy and matter, formed into a complex neural structure, which gives rise to my subjective experience—my consciousness—at this point in space and time. I experience the universe from this unique vantage point. Others, even if similar, are different due to their own patterns and forms. When I die, this pattern ends. But, since I'm just an emergent arrangement, it’s possible that such a pattern could arise again elsewhere, someday, and become conscious again.

I just hope AI can extend our life spans and consciousness indefinitely

Bryan Johnson’s research seems quite promising.
I thought he was a clown at first

the problem with his approach is that its largely dependent on luck, he could very well do everything correct from a lifestyle perspective but then one of his cells mutates, he develops cancer, and dies early

He brags he’s most measured person in history
The AI would quickly catch it if your cells start to go haywire
