If u got energy, u got what it takes to tackle your problems, workout, improve, ask out women, socialize, make money.

If u dont have energy, u rot and stay in ur comfort zone.

Life is all about power and drive.

I have 0 drive
Even the prospect of going to a big party tonight makes me anxious. I'm afraid to feel too good so i don't do it

Yes, your dopamine/reward system is fried if you can't crawl out of it

Exactly, similar issue here. Drive is gone, that power and energy is gone.

I cope by thinking i have ascended humanity and produce a super High amount of dopamine without even having to leave my comfort zone

I mean it's partly true that you become less reliant on peer pressure for certain energy/vibe.

But I would say that a healthy person replaced that peer pressure energy with his own drive and energy, for personal passion and ambition
Without that replacement, theres nothing left.

Theres no consequences tbh, its just that u cant rely on it long term. The more you use, the less good it feels in the long term.

I can barely work when all I wanna do is get drunk.

Life is all about Dopamine

I think having a successful and meaningful life gives a constant stream of dopamine. Which is why cocaine can be so addictive, it's like powdered success and happiness. Long term I do not think you can trick your dopamine system. If you want a constant supply you have to be reaching for the good in life, the things that are meaningful and interest you.

Dopamine is heavily influenced by many natural regulators that are often overlooked in modern day society. Sun exposure, physical exposure to the ground "earthing", certain light wavelengths (basically sunlight), circadian rhythm, and the sight of nature heavily influences dopamine levels and receptor densities. Binging of any kind will cause "dopamine resistance".

Csikszentmihalyi named the two end of this spectrum apathy and flow, with certain other states in between them

Flow is the ultimate happiness state, where you get a huge dopamine rush from what you love doing, while apathy is the exact opposite

it’s the easiest to achieve flow from it’s neighbour states arousal and control , whilst’s it’s almost impossile if you are in a low energy apathetic state

Life is all about being in the flow as much as possible tbh. Everything else pales in comparison

Skill level is confusing. Isn’t being in the flow supposed to be easy?

No, flow is supposed to be a balanced state, because it is hard challenge wise but on the other side it assumes that you do possess the skills to overcome that challenge (which gives you the dopamine reward).

If the task is too easy for your skill levels, you become relaxed. The opposite is when a challenge is too hard to accomplish with your skills , that raises your cortisol and gives you anxiety

So the main point is you cannot be in the flow doing very easy things. You need a certain amount of challenge, but not too much
