My car is worth around 10k and the engine in it would cost 5k to replace so I'd say it's got quite a lot of intrinsic value. Ignoring financial value, that car is my transportation means and usually gets me 20 miles a day on average. Some days it gets driven over 100 miles total and I hit speeds of 95 mph with it for fun, so it has a lot of significance and therefore any critical components of it are also important.
