The older I get, the more I realize that no one is happy for very long.
The guys that mog and get the girls aren't happy most of the time. They are always chasing that next high in a mental state similar to a drug addict looking for his next hit, agitated, quick tempered, or sad.
The guys in love with the "perfect" partner are bored. Because of biological effects like "The Coolidge effect", they loose attraction to her after a couple years, and she becomes more and more physically unattractive to him (even if she doesn't change). If he leaves her he'll have heart-ache.
The rest of the guys are suffering from heart-ache, loneliness, and lack of fulfillment.
Our biology creates an illusionary world in our heads. One in which we see a goal, and believe that goal will make us happy. But it's like a carrot on a stick. As soon as we get a small taste, it get's pulled away and we're still hungry.
