There's this guy I met just a year ago - a guy who you would consider "pitiful" as he's not only short,a loner,and ugly but he's also living in poverty (and this is in SEA which is a thousand times worse). We quickly became friends as he's nice and helps people around him which is basically all you need to have to be a friend of mine - I knew that he was being ignored and being treated as an outcast because he's poor and unattractive so I tried to give him a few advice (some even coming from this forum) to improve himself and so far his improvement has been consistent. Not into an astronomical level but his skin is starting to lighten up as he's always reddish for some reason which I noticed ofc and complimented him, I can see that he never receive these words by his reaction so I was relieved but also heart broken by this.
Earlier today the days been going the same as usual but I don't really talk to him as much since I've been feeling sick for the past few days - I talked to him before school comes to an end but we were disturbed by 2 girls and asked my friend to lend her something and I of course ignored it since they're not harassing him or anything.
We talked about how things are going recently and all of that until school ended where he would finally approach the two girls that borrowed something from him. My heart literally shattered when that girl completely ignored him right on his face NOT EVEN SAYING ANYTHING BACK and he just lost motivation to ask her for his belonging again.
This was not the first time this has happened but I thought things were going easier now as he's been doing well himself the past few days. He smells good, dresses nice now, and his face is starting to clear up.
All I could do is give him a heads up since he keeps insisting he can handle his own.
