Which are better and why?

Lasso style straps or versa grip style lifting grips?

The grips are quite a lot more expensive.

I don't do much barbell stuff, mostly machines. Would use them for mostly for pull exercises.
The grips might be helpful for dumbbells with slippery grips as well.

I don't see any issues with classic straps, don't even see how could the versa grips be better

Haven't tried them, I only once tried straps from a friend.
I imagine if you're dealing with a slippery bar (many sweaty hands touched it before) it's better. Might also be easier to wrap around?

But I can only speculate. Might try a knock off brand versa first

no, it does not matter, it's matter of technique

with straps you wrap it around the bar, and then grip the strap itself, the part that is wrapped around the bar
and as you start pulling, the strong grip you have to exert prevents it from sliding around

here's an image of what I mean, for some reason I can't paste it directly

i personally use the lasso style straps"", since they can be used on more machines but u can also get both. Since u use it more for pull , i suggest "lasso style straps"

Do you think the grips won't fit well on a lat pulldown machine for example?
