Light is so fast it can travel through earth 7.5 times in a second

Our vision is based on it so everything u see happening requires light to travel but since it’s so fast basically anything u could possibly see happen is instant

Yet in space there are things millions of light years away so when u look up at the sky the stars u see some of them might not even exsist anymore

It’s so far away light takes so long to travel that it’s being viewed the way it was millions of years ago

Also light is so fast the sun is 8 light minutes away so when u look at the sun that’s where it was 8 minutes ago

theoretically we could do time travel if we could reach those level of speeds but most think its not possible.

I mean theoretically but u couldn’t change anything

Theoretically if u travel 80 light years away from earth super fast and look in a super advanced telescope ur gonna see ww2 still happening

But it’s not happening in real time it’s just too far away the light couldn’t travel

Brutal even more mindblowing to think there are things so far away it takes millions of years for light to travel

the nearest galaxy to our milky way is andromeda, which is 2.5million lightyears away from us. if you are interested in it, here is a picture from hubble who captures a fraction of it, you can zoom in and see that all the dust are actually stars: https://esahubble.org/images/heic1502a/zoomable/

Crazy to think nothing with mass can ever exceed the speed of light and 99% of cosmic material can never even come close to reaching it. Rlly puts in perspective how limited we are and how insignificant we are as well

1% of speed of light is 7 million miles per hour. HOLY FUCK

I think it would be impossible to travel to another planet or galaxy with how fast light is and light is the so called speed limit of space since it’s the fastest thing there is

Unless humans can bend the universe to their desire with some wormhole or something

pretty much this. We would have to pull off some interstellar shit (impossible tbh) or go on 100s of thousands of years longs trips throughout the cosmos to do that might be possible millions of years from now with more advanced forms of energies but we nowhere close rn. Kinda sad but amazing at same time. God i love space so much

A light-year is a measurement of distance and not time (as the name might imply). A light-year is the distance a beam of light travels in a single Earth year, which equates to approximately 6 trillion miles (9.7 trillion kilometers).

Imagine if you could create schrödingers box in real life in a way it won’t collapse. And then you go inside and superposition yourself into any reality you can think of.

Wait until you find out the craft aliens use travel through wormholes and can bend space/time.
