I've been saying this for some time now. All this bs about how AI music is trash, how it cannot compete with "muh soul muh real inspirational human music " is bullshit and cope

The backlash against AI music, or just AI media in general, mostly comes down to insecurity and ego. People dislike the idea that something of high quality can be generated effortlessly. It cheapens the perceived meaning of content by divorcing output quality from effort. To quote Syndrome: "When everyone's a super, nobody is."
And btw, most artists are just in it for the money and status anyhow. They've got no issues publishing bland mass market slop. Muh soul. What a joke.

I literally don't ever listen to human music anymore. I just bought a Suno subscription for 20$ a month and I can now produce entire albums in a day, where every track is specifically designed to cater to my personal tastes. It's produced shit that you wouldn't believe that's 1000x better than any of the stuff from the playlists that I used to listen to during the pre-AI era.

Musicians are fucking toast. They're just going through the denial phase.

Fuck you we still got the live shows they can't replace. But in a couple years when AI is completely customizable/quality on the fly and combined with holograms or robots yeah we're toast. Music is essentially becoming a cheap toy, no one would buy or support yours when they can easily just make their own or even take yours and modify it to be more for them. At that point despair sets in and why even create...ANYTHING, for anyone but yourself.

But still fuck you for helping it. And you're not the only one, I know many people in real life, musicians and producers who make money at it, who've now turned to the dark side of AI and suggest I do the same. Right or left it doesn't matter, this is a uniparty stance. I would think the right who are christian and believe in soul would understand the point they're destroying but no because they're also caught up in the product side. Well soon there won't even be a product.

I've been fooled by AI on youtube before. Just working and got my earbud in, picking a song and letting it auto-next from there, not looking at the screen. Like whoa where'd this hidden classic come from, then I find out its a band that doesn't exist.

No more autoplay for me

The other thing AI does is bring the standards way up so only the best survive and even if you're a really good musician and people hear you, they may instantly think you just used AI, like everyone else.

But really people in general are mostly in a state of braindamage that they don't even listen to... anything... for more than a few seconds, say dope bruh fire and move on to the next. I'm a rare outlier.
