Peasants had a great communal bond the entire village knew eachother you were set to marry your neighbours daughter or stn from birth SET UP BY YOUR PARENTS AND HERS NOT YOUR LIEGE OVERLORD. Sure tending to the field 12 hours a day is rough until you realise they get pissed drunk at the end of every day and have a orgy and everybody is invited happy with no crime because everybody is basically family. Living like a medical peasant is just like living in some tribe. Low cortisol,

But I read books where that happened. There were very few free people living natural life in Europe, like native Swiss.
Not to mention how demeaning it is to dedicate your life to grains, which isn't even food for humans.

The peasants farmed many things. Sure being an English peasant was rough but being one in Germany wasn’t as bad being a peasant in Balkans was tenuous due to Muslim slave raiders and the like but generally it was superior life to being an modern normie 2 paychecks away from becoming homless
