it makes the mandible slightly wider from front since thats what ccw does. ur total fwhr changes yeah, the midface itsself not really. your lips CAN change which gives the illusion of a change of the midface since that person had lip incompetence and couldnt close them/rest them in a position like others

Sorry if my question seems dumb i'm more of a roid gymcelling knower but is it truly impossible to shorten the nose ? It's the only thing that make my face appear longer, it's not a massive failo but it's something I can notice. And when I try to imagine how this could be done I imagine a horizontal chunk of bone getting removed from one cheek to the other passing through the nose.

again thats just a change of LIPS and not the midface itsself. thats not MIDFACE SHORTENING, shes able to close her mouth since lips positioning changed. nothing has shortened, she just lost the horse faced look

What they probably did refer to was a change in actual length of the tissues which obviously isn't gonna occur, but the change due to the impaction is what arranges the tissues in a way that now they'll appear shorter.

this is probably why Eppleys statements contradicted each other too because he talked about the actual tissues and bones in one, but just the appearance in the other
