Damn it!!! Just measured and my ramus is above average length but my mandible is short. Totally got robbed. If my mandible could’ve just kept growing a bit I would’ve been Chadlite. Hopefully I can get jaw surgery or at least a sliding genioplasty.

59 mm. Apparently you’re supposed to measure from the tragus (midpoint of the ear).

I'm already at 11 cm going by bone alone.

Insane cope measurement, only relevant part of the ramus is the exposure from bottom of ramus to bottom of earlobe. That is what's visible.

It’s just what I read 🤷‍♂️

I figured the same, it's literally close to 14 cm when i do that.

but there's no bone there so why measure it.

Fixing your earlobe with surgery can be extremely beneficial for people witt hanging earlobes. Small earlobes makes the ramus look insane.

I know, but it's just as cope as bonepressed dick, you can't use that extra cm or two to fuck.
I guess… but aren’t the ears used as a measurement point for a lot of things?? Chin projection, facial harmony, eye height, nose projection, etc.

Yes, but ramus visibility is what's aesthetic in this scenario.

I have attached lobes, ironically my sister doesn't.
I too was blessed with this, my ramus is not that much above average but looks a lot taller than it is due to this.

to be honest I don't believe the average is only 6 cm.

Measure it in a cephalometric analysis.

Did you get orthodontic treatment?

Your ramus is as long as your phone?

Obviously its physically impossible
Sure, but I'm wondering what those people are even measuring. Another guy here claimed that he has a 7 inch ramus and uploaded a picture that looked just like my average classmate's jaw, maybe a little above but still nothing out of the ordinary.

I measure mine as the distance between the red dots:

The ramus measuring methods differ in studies, so I'm wondering if that's a fairly accurate way.

Tragus to ramus
cant see where the fuck the tragus is on the cephalometric analysis
there is no accurate way or not unless you fuck up the method of measurement somehow, only different ways
the most relevant is the most widely used as you can compare data to others otherwise its just kinda useless and doesnt tell much

Could you send me a cephalogram in which the tragus is visible?

your ear isnt a bone
True but I would have guessed you could know where it is by checking for the ear hole in the scan.

However there's no hole formation visible at that spot in the scan, probably due to the image being overexposed.

Just do it with a ruler instead of doing this autistic shit
if you somehow wanna use a cephalogram then use some standardized cephalometric landmark but I dont see the point

So I was right about the Travis to ramus measurement being correct?
