The bases of attractiveness (facial symmetry and clean features) are so universal to mammals that they actually apply even to non-humans. You can easily tell which dogs and cats for example are good or bad looking, and there is even some evidence that suggests dogs like good looking people more than ugly ones lmao.

Humans prefer certain dog aesthetics over other, but I'm not so sure our preference matches female dogs' preferences.

With that being said, look at any TV show about animals mating, its always displaying best possble genetics. Its so laughable that humans, the result of the exact same evolutionary process should somehow be different - its all about genetics, it always has been and always will be.

Exactly. It's funny how humans forget we're animals too. Yes, we're civilised but still we're animals. An animal, by definition, is "a living organism that feeds on organic matter, typically having specialized sense organs and nervous system and able to respond rapidly to stimuli". Why wouldn't other animals who breed together have different levels of attractiveness to potential mates?
