Even if you aren’t traditionally “good looking” you will very often still be picked because of your looks. For example, someone who is ugly can have a more cocky personality, whereas a good looking guy can not use that personality, even if he is better at it and more quick witted than the ugly. Therefore the uglies personality is the main selling component and he can even beat out Chad because he was allowed the personality based on his looks but Chad can’t amplify his personality because it doesn’t suit his looks. So looks still apply heavily even in personality because it determines which personality you can use.
Take Donald trump for example. I see this personality often, it isn’t a personality hardly, it’s a result of a specific look of man. Change Donald trumps looks and he would be forced to change his personality as well.
