It's why you always want to use decision strategies that would yield positive outcomes in an infinite game.

Playing the Lottery, or Running Scams, or investing in memecoins, Or committing Crimes infinite times would be a negative outcome.

a lot of things we do wouldnt be beneficial if ran infinite times. a button that has 0.00000001% chance to permanently kill you or give you 10 billion euro is suicide if pressed infinite times but 1,2 times most ppl would press it

Aw you're taking it too literally, mother-fucker. Have you trouble thinking in abstract?

Not infinite fucking times, dickface. It's about it averaging out as beneficial so that most of the time you in control of who you are and how you bloody well perform. That's part of being a man.

Jesus fucking Christ oh lord you are a nerdy autist. Aren't ya son? Twat.

This just proves you think for effect. Everything that comes out from your mouth is probably for effect.

You live to APPEAR effective. Rather than be. Stop being a poser.

I thought @Eriot Lodger wrote this at first 🤣

(Not implying it isn't a fair retort)

May be in your Zoomer circles that sounds edgy and cool, but it's literally autism in year 2014 when there were more neurotypical people around on the internet.

cant you see that he barely said anything meaningful and that there is irl practical meaning behind my autistic 'infinite times :soy:' thought experiment

LOOOOOOL :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You created a fantasy scenario and tried to look edgy with it. Mental gymnastics at it's stupidest. You might as well be a libtard wokeist. Just with your hair dyed orange, not purple.

Ah another wokeist.

But you see this is the problem with you autistic Zoomers. You think you can say dumb crap and not get ridiculed.

Generally speaking, most people don't try and debunk pragmatic logic like that @noodlelover illustrated with deliberately stupid disingenuous concepts that are incredibly far-fetched from reality. And so generally speaking bullying wouldn't need to happen.

I don't bully people. I bully retards, so they can get the tough-love they need and should be getting from normal healthy social interaction.

An angsty guy

Oh and the craziest thing is, I am the calmest, coolest dude irl. Far from anxious or hyper. Ask people on here that have heard me speak.

But when I make a mentally stimulating thread that's good for discussion, there's always one @wollet2 that comes in an ambushes the topic with his autism. One spastic. Always one spastic.

I just told you I had no problem with your thread or post, or the retort I originally replied to.

All I said was that your manner of speaking reminds me of a different user.

Pressumed me to have found fault in your words, even though I made it clear my belief is the opposite?

When an individual lacks this heavily in common sense and literary understanding I begin to doubt their overall level of intellegence.

See, I just did it too :feelsgood:

@wollet2

You referred to me as angsty and referenced the word bullying.

You didn't find fault. You used words that suggest I was at fault, according to wokeist social norms.

I agree with bullying low iq users!

Perhaps angsty was too exaggerated, I couldn't determine that through the phone, you're right.

But I would personally assume you to be angsty,

as if I were to present the forum with something high iq, and be disregarded by a person I deem low iq, I may be implored to be consumed by a small degree of "angst"

My initial implication may have come across as confrontational

But really I found your style of text and conveying anger/annoyance through logic and high literary prowess as just up my alley! It was a breath of fresh air!

You misunderstand my intention lad!

wtf am i reading btw. 'control of who you are and how you bloody well perform' :ROFLMAO: this just makes some arbitrary sense / is a cool thing to say in your stupid curry mind that you cant get across or turn into meaningful advice to save your life

people are brought in situations where it is not clear what decision would be more beneficial to them in long term. teens take the risk to quit school to join a sport or esports team off the top of my head and many more. i dont even understand what your point is if you have any :ROFLMAO: its ironic how youre the one trying to sound insightful here and im simply exposing ur worthless poser ass stfu

also look at ur fucking avi you indian old man. i fucking hate you for being so disgusting and trying to project urself onto me

Yah, to me it's better to think in terms of decision strategies than specific decisions.

So if you are very poor, you could use 10 billion to reduce the probability of your death by more than 0.00000001%, so it would be an optimal choice in the long run.

If you are already rich then it doesn't make sense. So a decision strategy could have you making different decisions depending on the environmental risks (the world changes) and the assets you have.

false
1 ergodicity of a system doesn't apply to the individual (if you risk ruin, even if the E(x)>0 you shouldn't play)
2 look into the Saint Petersburg paradox (a game nobody should play even if the E(x) = +inf)

I also believe that there is a predetermined amount of 'pleasure' that you can extract out of life. If you try to get more, the negative side effects will ensure that they offset the pleasure you gained. You can't win.

Perhaps. Yeah, since too much pleasure will disturb your effort level following up from the pleasure, erasing your drive as a man. Leaving you feeling too comfortable and bored.

You risk ruin if you don't make certain decisions.

a button that has 0.00000001% chance to permanently kill you or give you 10 billion euro is suicide if pressed infinite times but 1,2 times most ppl would press it
This is the example @wollet2 gave. What I said, is, if you are poor the chance of you dying from crime from living in a bad neighborhood, cancer that you can't afford to treat, stress related disease from living in poverty, etc. is higher than 0.00000001% everyday, so by taking the gamble you are reducing the probability of your death.

All decisions risk ruin. Minimizing the probability of it should be the goal.

Some real world examples:

You're old, and an anti-aging treatment is risky and might kill you, but if you do nothing you'll be more likely to die.

You have cancer, and treatment might kill you, but if you do nothing you're more likely to die, for the specific type of cancer and the specific type of treatment you're considering.

Spending time learning X-skill could cause you to have reduced focus on your job and get you fired, but if you don't skill-up or get ready for a career transition you are even more likely to get laid off do to outsourcing and be unable to get a job.
