it's because people as children watch and read stories of heroes (books in the past, now movies, anime, videogames) or in the case of women they see princess stories and imagine themselves being that and then they grow up and think they are like the people they read about or watched. Eventhough they are a normal basic human being. Then the narcissistic fantasy hopefully goes away or you'll be coping hard for the rest of your life thinking you are more than that. Unless you are an exceptional human being in the top 1% maybe then you can live this fantasy for real.
