I've been thinking, if we put strings between our two front teeth and keep going up in width, would that increase our palate size?

Kind of like spacers they put on you during braces.

Combine that with mewing.

Lets discuss.

Wouldn't expanding your teeth split your suture though?
No I don't think so. I am not an expert but in order to split the suture you need to put force on the maxilla directly.

how can it affect the theeth but not the maxilla are they disconnected

No. That would just pull your alveolar ridge & possibly break your upper teeth off.
