Of course. Males of the majority of species have had to evolve "ornaments" to showcase the fact that they have the resources available to develop it. In many other species, hypergamy is literally at its worst, males do not consider the genetic fitness of the female at all- unlike humans, where we consider it to a lesser extent than women do so to men - and will mate with any available female it finds, while females of the species still look for the best of the pack. Brutal.

I'm a firm believer in this as well. The amount of females that are subhuman is higher than most people would like to concede but at the same time, the thought process behind it makes sense since males tend to overrate females in general.
The consensus on this forum seems to be that most males are subhuman, yet the same is true for females, if not worse.
