Everyone keeps talking about Usian Bolt's 100m dash but I've never seen people talk about Mo Farah's 10,000Km run. He completed it in 26 minutes..
That put him at around 20mph which is bonkers. The Marathon running records are simply way more impressive because of the level of training, endurance and mental fortitude you need to complete them..
Ultramarathoner Scott Jurek broke the Appalachian trail record by running through 2,189-miles of rugged terrain in 46 days, 8 hours, and 7 minutes (that’s 47 miles a day for 46 days)
Ryan Atkins ran through 100 miles of grueling obstacles in only 24 hours in the World’s Toughest Mudder
There are many records like these. The level of athleticism needed for these records is insane. Humans were built for endurance. This is how our ancestors hunted mammoths and Saber Tooths. By tiring them to death.
