Taekwondos super impractical and it’s pretty girly in the west (cause it’s a weak martial art compared to the other ones)

i did folkstyle wrestling but havent practiced in years. still have basic reflexes and could brutally beat an untrainted man my size or slightly largery

thats what i thought but tbh know nothing about taekwondo

most important thing whatever u do (an absolute requirement infact) is that its intense, competitive sparring and not cope to feel like u have skills

just take the best oppurtunity. yeah its impractical to restrict kicking. but u can practice that on ur own or casaully

the most important thing to train for practically is beating an untrained/minimally trained person but of a larger size. competing against trained people is sport.

a real fight is very different from training. most important is ur used to someone actually trying to beat u and can improvise strategically in such a situation

If you have the money and location do MMA but if you don’t have the money boxing’s your best choice, I’ve done kickboxing and boxing for a good amount of time growing up and most people who have really been in life threatening street fights can recall that nobody ever kicks, sure it’s powerful and useful in the cage but outside that punchings way more practical
