To be honest. To work your way up anywhere you need extreme leverage,

You need to know exactly what Senior Leadership's pain points are, and quietly position yourself as someone who can solve their biggest pain points. The more information you have about what they're fearful about, the more you can exploit fear/greed, and take on "more responsibilities", while really just viewing your job as a machiavellian chase to be "the mercenary", who is exactly everything that Senior Management needs.

If you just go to work to get the job done, you'll go nowhere.

But I want to inspire some people with real advice.


It is not true that just nepo babies and well connected individuals get promotion packages.

A lot of the time, you just don't know what Senior Leadership is really worried about, and so focus on the wrong things.

If your day is all grunge work; automate it and tell no one. Your project is to quietly uncover your businesses pain points; and instead of solving them with no one around, slowly position your as being seen as the person who can solve them. You'll be given responsibilities more aligned with the incentives of the company - the revenue generation, profitability, security from audit, innovation, pipelining, automation.

i have about 3.7/4 gpa in my russian school (education system here is much harder than in the us btw) but us edutcation still costs a lot of money even after the scholarships i can get so how do they even afford it

most go in debt even with scholarships or they have wealthy parents. but if you go to a high end school or an ivy league school and get the right degree youll be able to pay off whatever debt u have in no time
