What does it mean by "family"

There are less nuclear families now than back then.

Instead of 1 working adult there's 2 working adults per family now.

so purchasing-power has been halved in just 70 years.

OP doesn‘t understand it.

Just send the mother to work so the woke school system can brainwash your kids into gay israel loving retards.

All just so you can afford the same thing you could have had 50 years ago on one income and 40h/week

quality of life probably x10'd at the minimum.
yes, we can easily see that because mental health has improved x10 and we have less depression, mental illnesses and suicides than ever before.

Average person is 10x happier than 70 years ago. Much more socially connected too. Insane life quality. Truly impressive.

this is very debunkable Ill respond later

as suggested by mental-illness and suicide statistics, right?
mental illness went down a lot yea. Suicides are just increased-access to information, suiciding is legit difficult and non intuitive

Well said

So a family with only one parent (often without a degree) working had the same purchasing power as 2 graduates in 2023. Amazing jfl

No people are just buying higher quality houses and cars with their extra purchasing power.
maybe because of higher income inequality, a single-income with college degree is better off than vise versa in 1950s

-house cost per/sqaure foot is down

-computers, TVs, moderns cars, which everyone owns at least one-of, would cost billions to produce in the 1950s.

-food is cheaper

-higher social mobility

-higher (general) fiat value

Take a macro-economics course when you go to college. Real wages have stagnated for decades.

This.

Anyone who thinks our lives are better now is either extremely low iq, or a jew.

Before: Only the man of the house is working. The man gets a job right after high school that can support a family of four with a house and a car. The woman stays at home and raises kids.

Now: Both man and woman need to work. Man requires either a college education in a high paying field. Kids are raised by day care. Houses are significantly more expensive so youre in debt longer. College is a requirement so now you have to save up an additional 100k for each child.
