Be tanned beach mogger this summer and not nigga
lifefuel for pale-skinned bros who be looking like a fluorescent light bulb and want that bronze “I just got back from Mykonos” mogger face
Start slow as hell. You’ll ruin your skin if you blast it day one.
Pro tip: Lay out on a white towel or by light-colored surfaces (they reflect UV and help tan evenly).
I know solariums are a meme, but hear me out. Done smart, they’re actually effective.
Use indoor tanning lotions with melanin boosters (look for tyrosine or melanin in the ingredients). They don’t do miracles, but help your skin respond better.
Stack these for at least 4–6 weeks. Doesn’t replace sun, but makes your body respond 2x better when you do tan.

Skin Type: Understand Your Base
- If you’re Fitzpatrick Type I or II (you burn fast, don’t tan easily), you gotta accept it’ll take longer.
- Don’t expect overnight results. You’re building a tan like a physique — time + consistency.
- Fake tan is fine short-term but long-term aim = real melanin.
☀ Natural Tanning (If You Live Somewhere Sunny)
Start slow as hell. You’ll ruin your skin if you blast it day one.
- Day 1–4: 10 mins front + 10 mins back (shirt off). Use SPF 30. Don’t skip this.
- Add 5 mins every 3–4 days. Watch your skin. Slight redness = STOP.
- Time it right – 9 to 11am or after 4pm. Avoid peak UV hours (you will burn).
- Do this consistently 4–5x a week. It builds up.
Pro tip: Lay out on a white towel or by light-colored surfaces (they reflect UV and help tan evenly).
Indoor Tanning (if you’re in cloudy climate or winter)
I know solariums are a meme, but hear me out. Done smart, they’re actually effective.
- Start with Level 1–2 beds. 4–6 mins first session.
- Go twice a week MAX. Skin needs time to react + heal.
- Don’t chase a tan in 1 week. Long-term tan > lobster skin.
Use indoor tanning lotions with melanin boosters (look for tyrosine or melanin in the ingredients). They don’t do miracles, but help your skin respond better.
SUPPLEMENTS
Beta-Carotene (25,000 IU daily)
- Natural pigment found in carrots.
- Gives skin a warmer tint over time (subtle but noticeable).
- Also protects skin a bit from sunburn.
L-Tyrosine (500–1000mg daily)
- Precursor to melanin production.
- Helps your body actually build color faster.
- Stack with vitamin C.
Pine Bark Extract / Pycnogenol
- Helps with UV protection and evens out pigmentation.
- Makes tan less patchy and more bronze.
Astaxanthin (4–8mg daily)
- Antioxidant. Gives a reddish undertone to skin (in a good way).
- Protects against UV damage, keeps your skin from getting crusty.
Stack these for at least 4–6 weeks. Doesn’t replace sun, but makes your body respond 2x better when you do tan.
Skin Prep = Smooth Tan
- Exfoliate 2x a week — loofah or coffee scrub. Removes dead skin, tan sticks better.
- Moisturize daily — dry skin = patchy tan.
- Aloe-based lotions are solid.
Mistakes that is usually made
- goingout in 12pm sun with no SPF
- Tried self-tanner mousse — looked orange AF and it faded in 2 days.
- noytake supplements at first — took me 2x longer to get color.
- not exfoliating it — tan will be blotchy and uneven.
