Melatonin need to be cycled?

Taking melatonin 2mg for sleep benefits.
Can melatonin be used everyday for long term (like months or years)
Or does it need to be cycled like 5 days on 2 days off. Or other breaks.
Any help appreciated?

Yh ive already bookmarked and read it but I'm only using it for sleep benefits and its cheaper at lower doses

you are buying it from the wrong places.

you can get mega-dose 50mg tabs for the same price as 2mg tabs

Long term use may cause mild hormonal effects; just make sure that if you don’t need it on a given night, not to take it, but for the most part, it’s safe to use every night.

The optimal dose for sleep onset is 5-10 mg. If you’re using tablets, take it around sunset so its effects peak closer to your bedtime.

It is essentially a form of hormone supplementation so it can have effects, although they are usually not noticeable. I too believe that doses around 100mg have strong antioxidant effects but 5-10mg is generally sufficient

If you're using extremely high doses then you will cause desensitisation, so you need to be conscious of that, but in the recommended doses, such won't occur.

Melatonin is an antioxidant.
But there's far more alternatives & I'd like to think that causes melatonin receptor desensitisation via taking extremely high amounts of melatonin will affect sleep when you are not taking it.

I believe it's because it interacts with the endocrne system. Again, no meaningful effects in typical doses
