The only way males as a whole could become truly hypergamous and 'date up' as a collective would be for their options to multiply by quite literally 100x overnight. This change would be reliant on female sexual desire, which stems from their biology - a biology which is simply not as sexually driven compared to men. This is why male hypergamy cannot exist.

When i say "Atleast in the west" i do not mean that hypergamy only exist in the west. I mean that looks are higher valued then money and status in modern western society. In other societies bcs of the poverty level and women not being part of the job market. Money and status is more valued then looks are.
