To your OP, my suggestion is to be extra nice to everyone but if someone disrespects you, completely take away attention from them and ignore them as if they were so uncool (they are - unless they were simply messing around - in which case you'll look like a dickhead if you take things too seriously. Try to have fun)

Because if you're already popular and other people like you, you only have to distance yourself from the perpetrator without any drama for other people to side with you.
