Yo so I have an overbite and I've been mewing for like 2 months. I put my teeth together / align them so that my lower jaw looks better. Should I be doing this? Is this gonna be detrimental to me?

I also have an overbite and ive been mewing for like 6-7 months it didnt help at all

yes it's detrimental

stop improperly aligning your jaw

Don't put your teeth together, you're just grinding 24/7 which is a massive looksmin. Proper oral posture is - tongue to roof of mouth and teeth slightly apart

And tbh considering you have an overbite, maybe jut a little bit

jutting is terrible for your jaw lol don't do it constantly

Just don't overexaggerate the jutting like a retard. Gradually push your mandible forward so it meets the maxilla. I've been doing it for years and no jaw problems + makes it so much easier to breath when your mandible isn't suffocating your trachea

jutting your jaw makes it harder to mew too because of shitty teeth alignment when you're jutting

That just means you're jutting your mandible way too far out. It should feel quite natural because both of your jaws are somewhat aligned.

Dont jut, keep molars together. Mewing wont do anything for you if your under 18

if you can mew with your current bite, use that bite. don’t jut your jaw.

just constantly grind your molars down like a cow bro
As I said, not crush them together, light contact is plenty, you should be able to do this.

Putting teeth together isn’t necessarily grinding

It'll eventually grind down your teeth, there's no point.
Maybe slightly, but having them apart feels unnatural for me. I’m not sure what the purpose of contact would be though, besides ensuring tension in the masseters. I am doubtful of light contact even being harmful, for the teeth are capable of repairing small amounts of damage through remineralization.

Probably because you'd had your teeth within contact of one another for your entire life
besides ensuring tension in the masseters
Shouldn't be tensing masseters. Could possibly lead to TMJ developing.

It's just pointless. It isn't proper oral posture nor are there any benefits unless.

mewing dont fix your overbite, overbite is caused because of different teeth height your front teeth are longer than your back teeth, same way your lower front teeth are also longer than lower back teeth thats. To fix overbite you need to fix teeth height
