An absolute force from 2004 to 2016, but peaking around the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he dominated swimming like no one else ever had. Imagine winning all eight gold medals in all competitions you competed in a single Games in multiple range of events sprints, distance, butterfly, freestyle, individual medleys, and relays. He also regularly broke world records in the process. His world record stood for almost 10 years and only got broken by someone not in a competition with peds. Most decorated Olympian ever with 23 gold and 28 total Olympic medals numbers no one else touches across any sport. He is up there with most dominant athletes of their sports of all time like Wayne Gretzky,Tiger Woods, Tom Brady etc
