Not by widening your maxilla, yes it would appear shorter as wider face slightly, but MSE and mewing at the right ages to move the maxilla forward (forward growth) achieving CCW rotation (upswing of the maxilla) would achieve a shorter mid face, 10000000% it’s basic angles don’t let anyone tell you differently I can explain how if you wish but it is a weird one to explain so I’d rather not , short answer moving maxilla forward = shorter mid face so mewing if it works would shorten midface.

Yeah but if your maxilla moves forward his mid face would be ideal the infra orbitals are connected to the maxilla so if the maxilla moves forward the infra orbitals move forward in turn, improves under eye support so better pfl, cantal tilt etc (scientifically proven) some also say on here it moves your browridge forward to which could be true as browridge projection and maxilla projection are highly correlated, maybe why Asians don’t have either, but not proven.
