Hard time falling asleep. Keep thinking about everything. I want to sleep good tonight, because i have an important appointment tomorrow.

Anyone has good tips?

I can fall asleep in less than 2 minutes, no matter how much sugar I had before or screen time etc. but only if i do the following things:

I sleep on my stomach, head to the left. Head positioned just to the left of the cushion, at the edge, where the height is lower

Hands as close to the body as possible and palms facing upwards, not on the sheet

Legs slightly apart, not perfectly straight. The end of the blanket where the legs are, I tuck it under each leg, making like a hug for each leg using the blanket, so the legs also sit a little higher up

The blanket a little above my ear level in general, and the side facing my face, I lean/position it closer to my face, making it like I have a straight wall in front of me, 1-2 cm away, so I can breathe

At this point, psychologically, I start thinking about an older video I saw on Instagram of a kitty who was tired (you can find similar videos on TikTok, they should be good enough), and was being tucked into bed by a girl, she was covered with a blanket like a human, and the cat was falling asleep, at which point I think how comfortably such a cat was living, and what a tiring day I had, but finally I'm in that cat's position too, without worries or anything, moments where seconds away I fall asleep instantly..

I've been doing this for a few months now, and it's always worked perfectly so far (until then, I used to fall asleep much more slowly or inconsistently from one night to the next)

Journal before bed next time, so you have all your ideas saved somewhere, that you can look at later, and don't feel the need to keep thinking about them.

Practice daily mindful meditation, where every time you have a thought you let it pass and go back to focusing on your breathing. I recommend starting with 10 mins a day, and going to 25 minutes after you get more advanced.

This is building the skill of "not thinking" which will help improve your sleep by not thinking before bed.

Other benefits of mindfulness meditation include:
  • Better Sleep
  • Improved will power
  • Decreased stress
  • Decreased visceral fat
  • Improved IQ
  • Improved Learning and Memory
  • Better Problem Solving
  • Improved Time efficiency (Making up for the time cost of doing it)
  • Improved Productivity
  • Easier time loosing fat
  • Increased Testosterone
  • Easier time building muscle
If you can't spare 20 minutes at least do 10 minutes.
