I was scrolling forums and came across a forum which highlighted the downsides of minoxidil

History: Some of you may know minoxidil was originally made for blood pressure.

Cons: This is my main problem with minoxidil obviously if you are thinning it might be a good tradeoff but minoxidil increases aldosterone heavily.
This causes bloat and your liver to hold more sodium and secrete potassium.

Now for my main question: Are DHT inhibitors enough to prolong hair growth for a long time such as dutasteride or is minoxidil also needed for full potential. 2. Will it be fine to loop some diuretics to block the sides of minoxidil. e.g furomeside

u can use modafinil to counteract the bloat that comes with minox
Or just use a mild diuretic before u go out

I mean it doesn’t have any cons if you just use low doses.

Do not use minoxidil if you don't need it. It is a last resort. Start a 5ar as soon as hairloss starts and you will never need to use that vile bloating, discoloring liquid.

I only use it because I have to I can't use 5ars at a normal dose, im constantly fighting dark circles and bloating this is topical btw.

Minoxidil for hair is a forever commitment, you are not running diretics daily its unhealthy, i keep bloating at bay only by eating healthy and cardio, it takes alot of work.

u get bloating from topical?

It's not a constant bloat, but bloat triggers like food and poor sleep are amplified like by 2 and it takes less to get bloated.

It goes systemic; anyone who says otherwise is coping. Topical is 50mg minoxdil per dose, penetrating your scalp, the only saving grace is it needs to convert to minoxidil sulfate so you absorb it more slowly.

I get heart flutters every time i start minox the first week it goes in ur blood fs.
