Minoxidl with very long hair

I noticed some thinning recently, and I'm trying to get long hair (like a metalhead just long and straight)

Will minoxidl be any different with long hair? Will I have to increase the amount maybe?

As long as it touches the scalp no I have a problem personally putting it on my scalp because my hair is medium length
