(Just some thoughts, not properly formated, but you could expand upon them)
So I tried to measure some ratios. I did a sort of a marked mirror setup and with the help of a marked paper as well, I tried holding it as perpendicularly to the mirror as possible, so I think the measurements should be pretty accurate. Now you could say why not just a photo, well just felt like wasting time tbh.
Some qustions that arose;
There are many things that indirectly slightly affect ratios as well:
-If you have a Cupid’s bow you would measure it to the middle of, however the shape of the lip would slightly “mask” the philtrum as we move closer the the lip “lifts”
- The lip seal does very minimally affect the mouth width perception as well, which would subsequently affect other ratios in which the mouth width is involved
-A rounder eye shape in a positively tilted eye could give a certain perception of nct even if it’s actually positive
Point being sometimes with certain misc let’s say a cupids bow, it could subconsciously result on the effect of people perceiving the effect of two different philtrum lengths, keeping you more engaged.
(Related to positive told but rounder slightly droopier shape)
This could be that we often associate “positive” traits coming in package, because that’s easy to create a pattern that it’s recognizable, for reasons I do not know.
