@whiteegyptian
In this, we'll be talking about modern Egyptian genetics.
Not gonna bore you about location. Mediterranean Sea, transcontinental, 100 million, blah blah blah.

According to this, sub-Saharan African ancestry INCREASED over time.
According to this, Egyptian ancestry seems closest to Yemenis. Make sense. Yemen is by far the most sub-Saharan shifted part of West Asia. Egypt as we discussed had an INCREASE in said element. Alright. Moving on. Also, Egyptians are not particularly close to Levantine popular despite being partially in the Levant (Sinai Peninsula). I digress. Moving on!
Another chart shows a relationship between Yemenis (Muslim) and Egyptians. Contrary to popular belief, Yemenite-Jews are not differentiated from Arabians but are from Turkish Jews, Iraqi Jews, Iranian Jews and so forth. I digress! Moving on!

This study has some FST data. Let's look at a few highlights:
FST values between Moroccans: 0.007
This isn't super distant, but not super close. Makes sense. Egyptians have more Eastern Mediterranean and Natufian ancestry than Moroccans.
FST values between Saudis: 0.006
Similar to the above, but Egyptians have notably more African ancestry that might distance Egyptians from Saudis.
FST values between Jordanians: 0.002
This is surprisingly low. Jordanians do seem to have more of an Arabian profile compared to other Levantines. Where were these sampled though? The later research seems to contradict this. I'll research further.
FST values between Syrians and Lebanese: 0.005 and 0.006.
Shared Eastern Mediterranean heritage it seems, but Abruzzese are just as close.
FST values between Turks: 0.009
Turks don't have much African ancestry so somewhat distant.
FST values between Sicilians: 0.008
This is surprising. Or not depending on your POV. Sicilians do have a North African element as well as some Natufian. That could be leading to this relatively low distance.
So what the fuck are Egyptians?
I don't fucking know! They're some hodgepodge of Eastern Mediterranean, sub-Saharan, North African and Natufian. They're kinda their own thing.

Ancient Egyptian mummy genomes suggest an increase of Sub-Saharan African ancestry in post-Roman periods - Nature Communications
Archaeological and historical records had shown ancient Egypt before and after Ptolemaic and Roman periods to be a hub of human migration and exchange. Here, Schuenemann and colleagues analyse ancient mitochondrial and nuclear DNA to investigate the genetic history of Egypt.

Genome-wide analysis of Corsican population reveals a close affinity with Northern and Central Italy - Scientific Reports
Despite being the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean basin, the genetic variation of Corsica has not been explored as exhaustively as Sardinia, which is situated only 11 km South. However, it is likely that the populations of the two islands shared, at least in part, similar demographic...
